American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) Examination
Background:
The American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) examination covers a wide variety of subjects that include medical terminology, human anatomy and physiology, legal concepts, human relations, pharmacology, exam room procedures, administrative and clerical duties, and coding to name a few. This 300 question, multiple-choice exam is required for recertification of medical assistants and is highly recommended for graduates of a CAAHEP accredited program. CAAHEP stands for Commission on the Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs. There are three (3) sections to the test, each containing 100 questions. Students may take up to four (4) hours to complete the test. Cost:
Students and/or recent CAAHEP graduates: $ 95.00
Recertification (AAMA members): $ 95.00
Recertification (AAMA non-members): $170.00
Testing Schedule:
Fall Last Friday in October (9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.)
Winter Last Friday in January (9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.)
Summer Last Saturday in June (9:00 a.m. 1:00 p.m.)
NOTE: Students should arrive at 8:30 a.m.
