Placement
General Information:
The Advanced
Placement exam is a test that is taken through the students High School. Much
like the CLEP tests, students can earn credit toward graduation at Arkansas Tech
University by receiving a qualifying score on the examinations. These credits
can satisfy general education requirements upon completion, with passing grades,
of one regular semester of work at Arkansas Tech.
Scores:
For the scores
on the test to be considered for credit, an original copy must be sent to the
University Testing Center. If there are any questions concerning the Advanced
Placement scores call 609-771-7300.
*Note: The
AP Exam is not given at Arkansas Tech, but is administered with the students
High School. However, Arkansas Tech University’s testing center accept the
scores for consideration of credits awarded.
High school students
who participated in the College Board's AP program may receive college credit by
attaining TECH's AP qualifying score. Credit earned through AP may satisfy
general education requirements; however, to be awarded credit, students must
complete with passing grades one regular semester of work at TECH. Following are
the AP examinations that TECH will accept, the corresponding qualifying scores
required, and the credit awarded. This information is also listed in the
University catalog.
