Residual ACT Registration

Welcome to Arkansas Tech University (ATU). University Testing (UT) is happy to have you visit this site to register for Residual ACT Testing. Residual ACT scores are made available only to the institution where the test is administered. The results from this test administered at ATU are only accepted by ATU; therefore, the scores will not transfer to another institution. If you have taken the ACT-R test within the last sixty (60) days, please contact University Testing before registration. If you require special testing and you can provide proof of accommodations through proper documentation please notify UT before completing your registration. Special accommodation requests will be reviewed, and extended time will be granted with proper documentation. Other special accommodations must be approved through the National ACT Special Assessment program. Those special ACT bulletins will be mailed to the potential examinee upon request.

Examinees must report no later than 8:00 a.m. to Bryan Hall the day of the test. Bryan Hall is the first building on the left as you enter the campus on west ‘O’ street from Arkansas Avenue (by Whattaburger). There will be a sign at the building entrance and the exam will last approximately four (4) hours. Test results normally are provided by 9:00 a.m. the following day. Due to limited seating available, pre-registration is necessary.

ACT allows for the use of certain kinds of calculators on the Mathematics Test, but you are not required to use a calculator. It is your responsibility to provide a calculator. All problems on the Math Test can be solved without using a calculator. For test security reasons, to avoid disturbances in the testing room and to ensure fairness for all test takers, the following types of calculators are not permitted:

*pocket organizers *electronic writing pads or pen-input devices
*models with typewriter keypad *models requiring power cords
*handheld or laptop computers *models with paper tapes
*models that make noise *TI-89 & TI-92
*models that can communicate (transfer data or information) wirelessly with
other calculators

You may use any four-function, scientific, or graphing calculator on the Mathematics Test, as long as the calculator has none of the features included in the list above. Sharing calculators during the test is not permitted. Check your calculator to be sure it is in proper working order with fresh batteries if needed.

Please do not plan to bring purses, book bags or any extraneous items with you to the testing area. Testing areas may at times be cool so you may want to bring a sweater.

You must cancel within 24 hours of the testing date if you are unable to attend. If you do not keep the scheduled appointment, you may reschedule to an alternative testing date without forfeiting money paid in advance.

To register by mail:
The examinee must mail a money order (no checks will be accepted) for $30.00 made payable to ATU Testing along with the completed registration form (located through link below). Payment and registration form must be received one (1) week prior to test date and mailed to:

Once payment is received, a receipt will be mailed and receipt must be presented along with picture ID on the day of the test.

To register in person:
The examinee must complete the registration form and provide payment in the form of cash or money order for $30.00. Money orders should be made payable to ATU Testing. Payment and registration must be received one (1) week prior to test date. Once payment is received, a receipt will be provided to the examinee. Both the receipt and a picture ID must be presented on the day of the test.
